what to expect

We visited Roberts Memorial Provincial Park on a Saturday with the sun shining and a slight breeze swaying the tree tops. I hadn’t expected much out of this park but it turned into a wonder outing with lots to see. Other than the navigating of our way around the roots and stones it was a great path for the kids. No drop offs to worry about meant my head didn’t need to be on a swivel trying to keep all of the kids in my line of sight or holding onto them. Though the amount of roots and stones though would make it very challenging to take a stroller on this trail.

The trail gradually slopes down to the water front making for a nice leisurely stroll. The trail is wide enough to easily pass others along the way.

We had so much fun keeping an eye out for them and the kid’s excitement when they found one was contagious! We are now going to round up some of our own hot wheels to bring on our next hike to hide for others to find. As we walked we spotted a hot wheel in a tree trunk then we spotted another and then another. In total we found six cars hidden among the trees and stumps along the path. We kept one of them then moved one to a new hiding spot.

We also ended up spotting three wooden owls! It sure made the walk go by quick. None of the children complained the whole 1km hike down to the water and back up again.

There is no beach at the waterfront but there is a bit of grass and two benches to sit and enjoy the view. A narrow trail also extends out along the water.
